Week 3 4-18-11 4-21-11

Week 3 RR? - Understanding my character(s)

(Be sure to include quote and page number!!)

You must use at LEAST 2 quotes from the book.

Understanding your character is a good way for you to really get into your book and see from another person's perspective. In your response this week, describe your character. Think about and discuss:

-1. your main character's personality

- 2. how they act/behave

- 3. what they look like

- 4. how old they are

- 5 what sort of education do you think that they have

- 6 who their friends and family are

- 7 what their financial (money) situation is

- 8 and what their job is (if they have one).

I am reading MORE SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK by Alvin Schwartz. I have lots of main character and each stories. One most good story I had read was ONE SUNDAY MORNING. The main character is Ida and she is a girl who always goes to church every Sunday morning at seven o'clock. She doesn't live with her family and she is not merry or have kids. I imagined her with black hair, and her hair is down, and she wearing a dress. She doesn't really go out to buy so she really lose of lot of money. I think she doesn't have friends close to her and I don't know if she works or not.

Review the book description found on the back cover of your book. Using the information, and this information alone, construct two alternate titles for the book that appeal to you.Pick one of the two titles and create a catch phrase and movie poster. Describe (using language that will explain what you are talking about so that we can "see" it) the movie poster to sell the new titled novel.

I'm reading MORE SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK by, Alvin Schwartz. There are lots of stories and has different stories covers. So I will have to think I will have to

March 17,2011 What im readinq now...!

Give the title, author, publisher, copyright date, genre (how do you know the genre - from the back of the book, the title page, the text?), a description of the cover of the book, and the main character(s) you have met so far and on what page you first met them.

I'm reading MORE SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK by Alvin Schwartz. The publisher is Harper Collins. Copyright date is 1984. the genre is scary stories I know this because in the text it says that there was an accented and he/she doesn't know it's a ghost and in the picture it's look like a ghost. There dead people and fly animals in a room dead and laughing. The title tells me how scary it gonna be and most ghost in the book look scary like the one in front of the cover.
In the book chapter one Sunday morning the girl Ida always go to church on Sunday and she went one Sunday and she saw ghost and dead people in church.

reading respone 12-3-10

We've been looking and studying how we relate to our characters and the real world around us. Now it's time to put yourself into your character's shoes. Thinking about the main character of your book, consider what you would do in their situation. 1. What would your reactions be? 2. How would you handle the situation? 3. What would you do differently? Be sure to use complete sentences and EVIDENCE to support your thinking.

I am reading MARKED by P.C CAST and KRISTIN CAST. The main character is Zoey Redbird, she is 16- year old vampire who got a black marked in her forehead. Zoey is hanging out with the Dark Daughter when
her roommate and her other friends are telling her not to go to the party. If i would Zoey i wouldn't go becasue I want to hang out with my friends and because the Dark Daugher are so mean and disrepectful. Aphrodite is a girl who went out with Erik who Zoey fell in love with, she acting nice to Zoey but her friends don't want her to become one og her and the Dark Daugher. If i was on Zoey's shoe I would just back away from Aphrodite.

My reaction to the book is mad a Aphrodite becasue she like the devil so mean that i just wont even want to see her. For me to handle this situation just have to talk to a teacher or just ignore her. What would I do differently is try to change her.

on pg 157 it says " she was jealous that Neferet was my mentor."This tells that Aphrodite hates Zoey.
