Week 3 4-18-11 4-21-11

Week 3 RR? - Understanding my character(s)

(Be sure to include quote and page number!!)

You must use at LEAST 2 quotes from the book.

Understanding your character is a good way for you to really get into your book and see from another person's perspective. In your response this week, describe your character. Think about and discuss:

-1. your main character's personality

- 2. how they act/behave

- 3. what they look like

- 4. how old they are

- 5 what sort of education do you think that they have

- 6 who their friends and family are

- 7 what their financial (money) situation is

- 8 and what their job is (if they have one).

I am reading MORE SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK by Alvin Schwartz. I have lots of main character and each stories. One most good story I had read was ONE SUNDAY MORNING. The main character is Ida and she is a girl who always goes to church every Sunday morning at seven o'clock. She doesn't live with her family and she is not merry or have kids. I imagined her with black hair, and her hair is down, and she wearing a dress. She doesn't really go out to buy so she really lose of lot of money. I think she doesn't have friends close to her and I don't know if she works or not.

We need to sit down and talk about how to "hear" if a sentence is complete.

You give some good ideas but you don't support them. Why do you "imagine" she looks like that? What does going to church say about her personality/behavior? Why does she go to church? Why doesn't she have friends?

    Did you take notes????

How can I help you be successful?
